The final section of the E80 highway in Serbia opens to traffic

Eptisa has acted as FIDIC Engineer and site supervisor during the implementation of the project

The 24 km final section of the E80 highway in Serbia from Prosek to Crvena Reka was opened to traffic on Saturday 9, November with an opening ceremony attended by Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučić, and Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boiko Borísov.

This highway is part of the programme to modernize the Pan-European Transport Corridor X, one of Europe’s main communications arteries connecting Salzburg with Thessalonica and Istanbul.

The highway total length is 89 km while Eptisa has been responsible in the role of the FIDIC Engineer and site supervisor for the 60 km highway section Dimitrovgrad - Prosek, which has included three tunnels, several bridges and viaducts, retaining structures, among others.

For Eptisa, this has been one of the largest project implemented in the region, with a contract value of 19.23 MEURO managed in consortium with Safege from France and IRD Engineering from Italy.
