The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has recently awarded Eptisa with a new contract in Turkey named "Technical Design and Engineering Services for Sludge Management Facilities" in Kilis with 5 months of period.

This project will be implemented under the "Syria Crisis Response and Resilience Programme", which its overall objective is to enhance self-reliance of Syrians living in Turkey and strengthen institutional capacities of local and national partners to be able to respond to the increase in demand for public services, as Kilis is hosting refugees more than its own population in Turkey with over 120.000 Syrian refugees, who have been escaping from Syria Civil War since 2011.

More specifically, this contract aims to build the infrastructural capacities of the Municipality as well as to strengthen the resilience of refugees and host members by undertaking the following major tasks for the establishment of Greenhouse Solar Dryer facility in Kilis for reducing volume of sludge generated by the WWTP:

  • Feasibility studies for the GSD facility and leachate reservoir
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Employer’s requirement with conceptual design drawings and cost estimate

To achieve this, Eptisa will carry out planning, implementation and design of sludge management facilities and provide technical assistance to enhance the infrastructural capacities of the Municipality.
