Eptisa will carry out the basic and construction design for the new Intermodal Station in Lugo, Spain

The proposal entitled "Ponte Bela" has been chosen among seven finalists by the Spanish Administrator of Railway Infrastructures Adif

Adif, Spanish Administrator of Railway Infrastructures, has awarded Eptisa a new contract for drafting the basic and construction design and the works supervision for the new Intermodal Station in Lugo, which will allow incorporate the city to the high-speed railway network.

Eptisa in consortium with Junquera Arquitectos and Calter Ingeniería companies presented the proposal entitled "Ponte Bela" by an amount of 627,305 euros, which was selected among the seven finalists' projects.

The project includes the redesigning of the current tracks for its adaptation to the high-speed railways, the construction of a new passengers building about 1.300 m2 ofsurface and a bus station building, as well as the redesigning of all railway facilities to favour the intermodality with the other modes of transport. Furthermore, the present restaurants, parking, offices and shops will be integrated in the new facilities.

The completion of the new intermodal station is planned for 2013 and will respond to the needs detected about the connexion with the rest of modes of transport and the road system, guaranteeing full mobility around.
