Eptisa participated in the informative conference "Uzbekistan, Opportunities market in Central Asia"

Some important figures of the country assisted to the conference organized by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce

Last June 30 Eptisa participated in the informative conference "Uzbekistan, Opportunities market in Central Asia" organized by Madrid Chamber of Commerce with the intervention of Jelena Zivkovic, Business Development Manager for Asia, of the international area.

The conference was held in Madrid Chamber of Commerce building and had the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Akmal Kamalov, and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Alisher Shaikhov. They carried out a presentation aimed to promote the investors’ interest in this market, which its growth rate has achieved 8% during last years.

Furthermore, they emphasized as priority sectors the mining industry, energy, public services, transport, tourism and pharmaceutical sector for the development of Uzbekistan.

Also took part in the conference Mr. Bakhtier Irmatov, head of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Spain; Mr. Khusan Khasanov, Deputy Director at Uzinfoinvest; and Mr. Augusto Castañeda, vice president of Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Eptisa presented its first project in Uzbekistan "Surkhandarya Water Supply and Sanitation Project", financed by Asian Development Bank funds and with the objective to to improve the quality of life and health conditions in the region, through the improvement of basic potable water supplies.

In this project, Eptisa provides technical assistance services to strengthening the sector strategy and management; project implementation assistance to the Project Management Unit (PMU) and Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in implementing the project and capacity development for service delivery.
