Eptisa extends a contract to continue upgrading the social and economic infrastructure in Kosovo*

Thanks to the successful performance of our expert team in the running project Municipal Social and Economic Infrastructure, a contract signed with the European Commission in 2009, Eptisa has recently inked an addendum to continue providing a wide range of engineering services for the development of the socio-economic infrastructure in several municipalities across Kosovo

October 07 2011

Eptisa has recently signed an addendum to the contract for the running Municipal Social and Economic Infrastructure project, an assignment that aims to improve selected social and economic infrastructures in several municipalities in Kosovo. With an extension of 27 months and an additional budget of 1,250,000 Euro (being now the total value of the contract 2.5 Million Euro), funded by the IPA programme from the European Union, the project will continue enhancing the municipal infrastructure with a particular emphasis on ensuring that minorities and the disadvantaged are able to access these services more easily in the future.

The total value of the works contracts is approximately 26 Million Euro and the indicative number of projects to be implemented is 20, from the three main sectors of local infrastructure:

  • Socioeconomic development (schools, health services, sports and youth facilities);
  • Infrastructure (roads, municipal buildings);
  • Environment (Water supply and sewerage system).

A team of international and local experts from Eptisa is involved in all stages of the project implementation, including assisting the municipalities to prepare their project fiches, developing the detailed design and technical specifications for the selected projects, providing support in the implementation, and supervising the construction works until the handover and final acceptance.
