A Consortium composed by Eptisa and Altair, Deutsche Stiftung fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit, European Profiles and Eurosupport – Fineurop Support Srl has recently been awarded the contract “Policy and Legal Advice Center (PLAC)” to provide support to national administration in Serbia in drafting Acquis-compliant legislation.

The overall objective of this project is to support Serbian administration to effectively conduct accession negotiations and successfully manages overall EU integration and pre-accession assistance geared towards EU membership.

In order to achieve the project objectives, Eptisa will prepare national administration for the practical aspects and challenges in the implementation of harmonised regulations, and the team of experts will support the establishment of functional coordination mechanisms to facilitate implementation. They will assist relevant institutions in developing the necessary implementation follow-up measures and in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of harmonised legislation. Finally, Eptisa will continue support for national administration to elaborate and/or fine-tune negotiating positions as well as to address opening benchmarks based on the outcome of screening. At the same time Eptisa will support SEIO and Negotiating team in facilitation and coordination of horizontal and vertical negotiating structures and in obtaining targeted capacity building and transfer of know-how from recent accession experiences (seminars, workshops, etc.).

All the activities should produce enhanced compatibility of national legislation with EU legislation and its effective implementation and enhanced capacities of relevant national structures for successful carrying out of accession negotiations.

For the next 30 months, a strategically composed team of local and international experts will be responsible for implementing this project.
