Eptisa has been awarded the Lot 2 of the Integrated Program of social cohesion Mexico-European Union

Eptisa will provide technical assistance services to establish and implement an integrated participatory model for sustainable local development in the regions of the Selva and Sierra regions

Eptisa has been awarded with a new project in Mexico titled "Technical Assistance for the Integrated Program of Social Cohesion Mexico-European Union (Mexico- European Union Social Cohesion Laboratory). Lot 2. Local Development Chiapas" with a budget of € 2,660,495 financed by European Union.

The overall objective of the Integrated Program of social cohesion Mexico - European Union is to strengthen social cohesion in Mexico, through the implementation of public policies and institutional practices which improve access and quality of basic services and public programmes in the social sector.

Eptisa, in consortium with Ecorys, REDR and Transtec, will provide technical assistance services to establish and implement an integrated participatory model for sustainable local development in the regions of the Selva and Sierra regions at Chiapas State, ensuring better access and better quality of public programs that encourage local development of both areas.

The expected results with the implementation of this project are the following:

  • To support in design and implementation of public policies for participatory territorial development, including in human development, infrastructures and environmental sustainability, through new practices and sustainable processes of territorial planning with social participation at local, regional and state levels.
  • To contribute to the strengthening of innovative and sustainable production systems, through capacity building of producer organizations, family businesses and social enterprises, the development and consolidation of production networks, the leveraging of loans, the provision of professional services to design of productive initiatives, technical assistance, training and support.
  • To develop innovative, creative and communication capacities and the use of new information technologies at local, regional and municipal levels, strengthening social cohesion and synergies.
  • To advise on the proper management of the project concerning the overall program planning and strategy, implementation, monitoring and assessment, contracts and grants management and information and visibility
This is the second project implemented by Eptisa in the region. The first one "Social and Sustainable Development Project in Chiapas State" was finalised in 2008.
