Description

MISSION :

Provision of Technical Assistance to the Independent Delivery Unit (IDU) of AREI”

OBJETIVE :

The overall objective of this assignment is to contribute to the development of renewable energy in Africa by supporting the AREI initiative. The specific objective of this assignment is to support the operationalization of the Independent Delivery Unit of the AREI and the implementation of its programme by providing technical assistance.

SCOPE OF WORK :

The Program Support Officer (NKE2) who will support the implementation of AREI phase II, ensuring the visibility of AREI and supporting the synchronization between AREI’s medium-term strategy and the implementation of the work program, with regard to participation, communication and awareness raising.

The Program Support Officer (NKE2) will contribute to:

  • General support
  • Country commitment and implementation activities
  • Communications and Outreach
  • Multi-stakeholder Participation for an enhanced engagement and people-centred energy solutions
  • Communications and Outreach

TOTAL NUMBER OF WORKING DAYS: 440

Minimum requirements

EXPERT PROFILE QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10 years of work experience in private institutions, non-governmental organizations or public bodies;
  • At least 7 years' experience in monitoring and/or supporting the implementation of projects and programmes in the field of sustainable energy;
  • Master's degree in engineering/ international business management/ economics/ renewable natural resources sciences (such as sustainable energy, environmental sciences, agriculture) or similar fields;
  • Perfect knowledge of computer tools and the use of Word, Excel and database software;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage politically and culturally sensitive issues;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in French and English (written and oral), knowledge of additional languages will be an asset.
