Description

Mission:

Support to AUC for the implementation, coordination and monitoring of the Electricity Harmonization Regulatory Strategy and Action Plan

Overall objective of this mission:

Development of a harmonized electricity market in Africa by supporting the AUC/Department of Infrastructure and Energy (DIE) in implementing and monitoring actions foreseen in the adopted Electricity Harmonization Regulatory Strategy and Action Plan.

Specific Role of this position:

The coordinator of all lots, expert n°1 will also be the Team Leader of Lot 1 and Coordinator, and responsible for reporting to the supervising Key Expert, the EU Delegation and any other stakeholders, contributing to the specific technical activities and assuring the quality, timing and comprehensiveness of the assignment’s deliverables. The work load of each member of the team has to be well-balanced and in accordance with the foreseen working days. Responsible for the implementation of the ToR. Prepare the Weekly Mission Note for every week spent on the field.

Minimum requirements

Qualification and skills

  • University degree in energy or equivalent with a Master or PhD
  • Excellent working knowledge of English and French

Professional experience

  • At least ten (10) years of experience on RES and EE solutions;
  • At least ten (10) years of experience on energy policy;
  • At least ten (10) years of experience on energy regulatory and institutional framworks;
  • At list 3 years prior experience and project implementation with AU and REC institutions (power polls, association of regulators, regional centres of RES and EE) on regulatory, RES and EE issues
  • Ability to mobilize stakeholders to contribute to the technical requirements of the project;
  • Knowledge of AUC and RECs energy sector strategies is an added advantage.
