Static and Dynamic Tests on the Line 9 Viaduct of the Barcelona Metro

Eptisa has successfully carried out the static and dynamic structural load testing of the viaduct of the Barcelona Metro’s new Line 9. This one-off structure is composed of different types of structural elements, each of which had to undergo its corresponding static and dynamic load test.

This is a double viaduct with 100 spans for each of the tracks and it is divided up into caisson, viaducts, depot viaducts, scissor crossings and sidings. The tests involved the monitoring and measuring of vertical displacements (sagging) and stresses (vertical deformations) in steels and concrete, and vibrations (accelerations).
