Eptisa is responsible for defining the “study area” on which the Plan will be focused on.

The main objective of this assignment is to develop a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) that will enable the City to manage mobility to be compatible with European and national requirements and identify the future priority investments in the sector. The SUMP will be based on an Urban Transport Model (GIS support) using a software platform.

The specific activities provided are:

  • Define the target geographical area and group;
  • Review of previous studies and plans;
  • Review of the legal and institutional background and structure;
  • Assessment of road infrastructure network: main statistics, condition, development projects;
  • Assessment of the organization of public transport (including taxis) in terms of quality and quantity service provided;
  • Assessment of the quality and quantity of public transport stations;
  • Evaluation of the quality and quantity of transport infrastructure in urban public spaces;
  • Assessment of public transport operator;
  • Evaluation of private operators (private bus/van) and taxi companies;
  • Assessment for bicycle rent centers and bicycle lines, if any;
  • Estimate trends in the level of motorization in urban area and its area of influence;
  • Assessment of the transportation requirements according to the specific area etc.
